Message to USA Powerlifting Members Regarding National Office

To all Members of USA Powerlifting:

I am writing to inform you of some significant changes in USA Powerlifting. As of today, March 17 the National Office is moving to Anchorage, Alaska so that the functions that are necessary to provide you with timely customer service may be more closely monitored.

Many of you have noticed, and have mentioned that there has been a delay in processing memberships, providing meet support materials, and with upkeep of records. Your observations are correct. This has been unacceptable to you and difficult for us since we strive for the best service and support for our members that we are able to provide within the framework of a small, non-profit organization.

As a result, we will be developing a new business model, and will be changing direct supervision of all office functions to be both more immediate and direct. Historically, the President was directly involved in the National Office, and the Office followed the President in terms of location. We return to that business plan and to assure that the National Office will function effectively.

Many of our volunteers are working to process membership applications that have been incomplete. There is a backlog of membership and we are working diligently to input them in the system, however, this will take some time. We will start with the 2013 membership year to assure that those of you who have completed your membership applications and paid your 2013 membership fees will receive your membership cards, and will be included in our member database, which will be available to meet directors and easily accessible to those who can verify your current status.

Our records are in arrears, as is our drug testing database. Please be assured that the information as to records you have achieved and drug test results have been retained. As we collate and process information not completed, these public records will be brought up to date.

The new mailing address will for the National Office will be:

USA Powerlifting National Office
1120 Huffman Rd, Suite 24, #223
Anchorage, AK 99515

The National Office phone number will remain the same (260.248.4889). You may still email: nationaloffice@usapowerlifting.com.

If you are a meet director, please check to make sure your competition is included in the current USAPL calendar at www.usapowerlifting.com. Check the menu for the current calendar. If you are not listed, or have not received your meet packet, please contact us at nationaloffice@usapowerlifting.com ASAP.

If you have meet related monies or membership fees that have not been processed, we will be working on this during the coming weeks. Most funds received have been processed or otherwise deposited and credit cards run this past weekend.

Please bear with us during this transition. Change is often difficult until everyone gets comfortable with new contacts and procedures. As we complete the location change for the National Office, we will return to the service and support USAPL members and meet promoters have come to expect.rt USAPL members and meet promoters have come to expect.

Thank you in advance for your continued membership and support of USA Powerlifting.

Respectfully,

Lawrence J. Maile, Ph.D., President
USA Powerlifting
